On September 19 Canadian drone doom duo NADJA plays a headline set. Nadja, from Toronto, consists of Aidan Baker and Leah Buckareff. Aidan is one of the most thrilling and prolific artists in music today, having released over 100 titles in the last 10 years. His work with Nadja contains elements of metal, noise, shoegazer, ambient, post-rock, experimental and neo-classical.

Preceding him that night is MICK BARR, a powerful experimental guitar player who has recorded as Ocrilim, Octis, and Orthrelm, and in the Brooklyn black metal band Krallice. In 2008, he was awarded an artistic innovation grant from the Foundation for Contemporary Arts, which was created by Jasper Johns and John Cage. The New Yorker writes that Barr’s “work in the brutal prog scene is inspiring; a virtuosic guitarist, Barr produces lightning-fast avant-garde compositions.”

This show takes place on Saturday September 19 at Union Pool, 484 Union Ave, Brooklyn. You can buy tickets here.
